Liah hated nights like these. Once every so many months would she allow for a 'casual' night with her mortal contacts and allies where they would get to decide the location as a personal token of their 'friendship' they've formed. Tonight was the one she hated most, but he was easy so she couldn't replace him. She could, but he was such a simpleton that she didn't want to. He was a man of lust, which made their dealings better, a pretty smile and the right shirt, she'd have exactly what she would want from him. Tonight though, he thought he was going to pull one on her and brings her to a strip club thinking it would loosen her feathers up.
Ever formal, Liah moves to the little 'private' table he had set up for them sitting down casually not waiting for him to offer a seat to her as she watches the others in the room taking a head count and trying to first make sure there were no familiar faces. When she was in the clear she turned to the man seeing that his eyes were locked on a
brunette who was walking around with drinks on a tray, not even center stage. Though Liah could see the appeal to the man. She let him have his moment of lust, clearing her throat only after a few drinks were sat at their table, more annoyed by his impoliteness than anything else.
The man turned his attention to the redhead before him and grabbed his drink with calloused fingers with a toothy grin taking in the appearance and general distaste for the location his female escort had.
"Here I was hoping for at least a blush. Nothing," he chuckles ruggedly more amused than anything else by her constant cool. Sure, she was a charmer, but there was nothing the man could do to crack through the red head's cool facade.
"I must admit I expected you to deny me on the request," He starts shifting into his form of 'business mode'.
"I said a place of your choosing, and you know that I am good on my word, Mr. Carson." The redhead replies stirring her drink absently staring him directly in the eyes her tone even and calm.
"Here I was hoping to get a spot of discomfort from you. I have to hand it to you, Miss Matthews, you drive a hard bargain. It's a shame you weren't born a man," He jokes loudly laughing at himself a bit.
"With that kind of a poker face, you'd put me to shame in business." He takes another large gulp of his drink.
She nodded watching him calmly her fingers stirring the drink absently taking it up to her lips and finally having a sip her eyes not leaving his. She sets the drink down,
"Speaking of, is everything going as scheduled, Mr. Carson?"He smiles and shakes his head,
"Business can come later." His words came out bluntly and to Liah's dismay. Though his eyes traveled back to the brunette who was making her way to hustle a tip over to the table and he gestured for the brunette to join the two. Liah remained still, but her eyes flashed to the woman, immediately scanning for tattoos, marks on her arms, and other tell tale signs of drug abuse.
The man chuckled at the brunette who immediately recognized him, and plastered on a fake smile as he pulled out money from his wallet.
"You see the problem with you, Miss Matthews, is that you never mix business with pleasure. For me, business is pleasure. Take Brigitte here," he says gesturing to the girl who turned around to greet her with a smile and a wink. Though Liah didn't turn her gaze from her business partner.
"Senior foreign exchange student from France--""Canada, it's Quebec I'm from." Brigitte corrects him playfully.
"So she's a rare gem, and we have to take care of our rare gems. Like you, Miss Matthews. A beauty to behold. Yet, you follow up on your words, and much like Brigitte here, all you are is false hope. So for our business, I'll continue to take your money and we can continue to work for each other, but I'm going to need a little more than a smile." He gestures for Brigitte to come sit on his lap.
"Si vous pouvez comprendre ce que je dis , alors hocher la tête." Liah says to Brigitte who nods in response.
"The conversation is happening here Mis--""Just mixing business with pleasure, Mr. Carson."He seems annoyed a bit but continues,
"You see, in order for Brigitte here to get what she wants." He pulls a 50 dollar bill out placing it in Brigitte's panty.
"She has to do more.""I'm giving you more than a sizable amount under the table and clear from an audit, what more do you want?" Liah's tone turned curt.
"I just want to mix business, and pleasure," he states with a sly grin as his foot moves over to slide against hers moving up her leg while he looks her in the eye.
"Otherwise, not a penny of your cash can really help stop the deal." Liah smiles and nods,
"You could have just said so, Mr. Carson."[/font] Her tone is polite and civil before she digs in her purse and grabs a grouping of 20's sticking her business card in the middle of them so it couldn't be seen by anyone else before handing it to the girl.
"Appelez-moi ce soir. Sauf si vous voulez rester dans les parages ce gâchis . Sauf si vous voulez porter des chaussures de 40 dollars activement."
"I think that concludes our business here." She looks to Mr. Carson who seemed more than excited about the proposition put forward.
The two left the establishment and Liah offered her driver to take them to a flat just on the outskirts of town. Leading up to it, he went on about his business and how the paper was doing and she had him call the paper to release the edition she wanted as she crawled onto his lap whispering sweet nothings in his ear moving her lips to his neck inflicting the kiss upon him, which made him all the hungrier to take the young vampiress upstairs.
To the poor Mr. Carson, the rest was a blur of just staring at the woman as he made a few calls entranced by her beauty. Now, there was a knife at his throat and a hand on his lips.
"Let me make something evidently clear to you, Mr. Carson. I call the shots here, you've been obviously living a life of Luxury, thanks to me, and you've been comfortably sitting in your position. Remember your daughter's leg surgery? Remember who paid for that surgery? Good. Now, if you think, for a moment, that you're going to call the sheriff and let them know you're being threatened, I'm going to tell them about all those under-the-counter deals you have and all those other dirty little secrets that you think I don't know. So I'm going to make you a deal, we're going to continue our relationship and your not going to make demands of me. If you even think about bucking the system, I will cut your god damn face off and feed it to your two new puppies. You see, I take care of my people, because we have a system, and when someone bucks the system, I get pissed off."She continues to stare at him in the eyes,
"Are you going to run your mouth about a helpless little old gal like me threatening you or do we have a deal?""W-w-we have a deal" He says shaking nervously and looks up to her trying not to further aggravate the woman.
She smiles and releases him,
"You think of attacking me, I'll kill you. Now your cab is waiting downstairs for you, and remember...not a peep." She smiles and he knew he couldn't take her he was obese and long out of shape. He left the apartment and got into the cab, thankful to be alive.
Liah pulls out her phone texting 'Vinny'
{{The man in your taxi is a traitor. Make sure he doesn't speak again. 10 in it for you. -R}}She then headed back home, tired for the night waiting on a call from the girl at the club. Looking outside of the window as the driver took her back to her estate she could only think.
//There will always be order//
