Plot & Story Progression
1. Plots on the Forum and Characters
A. When a plot for characters is open or active, it will be posted in this thread with a title, danger, theme focus, intended targets, and a small bit of information.
• The Title is name of the plot • The Theme Focus is the type of story (social intrigue, action, et cetera) • The Danger is the level of danger, rated from 1 to 5 (the higher the more danger) • The Information is a small snippet of information to shed light on context
B. This small entry of information is to help people decide if they want to be involved or not.
C. Some plots and stories may not be optional for some characters.
D. Plots will run for various time lengths depending on how quickly the players decide to pursuit them.
E. If you wish to be kept up to date on a plots starting point and wish to participate in some manner, “Like” the post with the plot.
F. When a plot is finished, a Date will be put at the bottom of the post with the rewards for those who participated (Experience or new possibilities typically)
2. Rewards & Consequences
A. Players will be rewarded if they participate in a plot for the majority of the story or if they make it to the end.
• Experience points, special knowledge, and even free dots may be a result of rewards • Experience rewards will always be evenly spread
B. Players may face consequences during plots that have long or short term effects for their characters.
• Negatives, flaws, and detrimental social effects will be the most common consequences. • Death may occur for characters, it will always be looked at critically though and assessed to ensure it is fair and the correct outcome!
C. At any time a player becomes uncomfortable, disturbed, or feels disdain for material in a plot, they are welcome to leave the plot or make a request.
• This will be discussed on a case by case basis. • Players are encouraged to be honest with themselves and the staff, there will be no judgment from staff.
D. Player rewards will always be transparent in generalized terms.
• While an exact knowledge or reward may not be specified, it will be listed that they received “A knowledge” or such.
3. Danger Levels
A. Danger Levels are rated from 1 to 5.
B. The higher a Danger Level rating, the more likely the character will encounter negative outcomes if poor actions are taken or constant mistaken are made.
Danger: 1 This plot is purely superficial and will have no system play besides what the players decide on or cause for themselves (through PC to PC interaction). The only dangers players face from the Environment are casual NPCs and consequences they bring on themselves.
Danger: 2 This plot is mostly superficial and will have very little system play involved, besides what the players decide on or cause for themselves. The only dangers players face from the Environment are NPCs and their own fortune with dice.
Danger: 3 This plot is an even balance of story and system play, with the exception of what players cause for themselves. The dangers that players face from the Environment are NPCs of various natures and the likelihood of foul play! Death can only occur from character decisions though (such as purposely tracking down a Forsaken tribe to flip them the bird).
Danger: 4 This plot is focused on system play, and while story play will be evident in the plot there will always be the danger of consequences from your actions in the plot. Negative outcomes are very likely if the players and characters are not on their game, and death may occur if several mistakes are made.
Danger: 5 This plot has a lot of system play in it, all of which can likely result in negative outcomes or death! Negative consequences will not be handed out freely of course, but players should only participate if they are confident and ready for a wild ride.
