House Rules
Welcome to the MiddleWhere Requiem forum! Below you will find the rules for the mechanical portion of creating a returning or new character, modified system rules, and more! Characters are considered returning if they were part of the last Camarilla chronicle for Requiem.
Once you are through with Character Creation, you will see a series of modifications to the core rules of the World of Darkness and Vampire: the Requiem books. These modifications are meant to keep balance in the game and future changes will likely occur as we play these stories out. If you have any questions, concerns, or corrections you would like to suggest please contact the Head Admin (Lucas).

Forum Storytelling Edition: Character Creation
This forum was intended as a place for older characters to complete their story. As we collect more players and a variety of characters, i’ve expanded the scope so new characters are welcome and everyone is on the same footing starting off. The following are rules and instructions on the creation of a character for this forum.
Character Sheet Info: We are using the Dalines.net sheet generator to produce and track these character sheets. Click on the link 'provided here' and make an account; all you need is an email and password. Once you make your account, click home and then click on the drop down menu. Select Vampire: the Requiem from the drop down menu and press select. Follow the instructions below and enter all Skill Specialties and Experience into "Additional Information". Once done click "Save" and it will provide you with a "Character ID Number" (5 numbers), you will copy that ID Number and send it to Lucas in an Email or Private Message for review! The Basic Character

Merits
The World of Darkness has a plethora of merits and advantages for characters to choose from, which may cause a bit of trouble at times. While there are several merits that are completely fine and balanced, there are others that can practically act as six point disciplines. If a merit is not out of the core books (WOD and Requiem), than make sure to speak to a staff member to get approval for the merit. Merits will be added to this list, approved or banned, as they are requested or questioned.

Flaw, Disadvantages, and Bonus Experience
In Vampire: the Requiem, the kindred that players will use to interact are normally highly disturbed, wounded, and tragic individuals that have left mortality behind them. The Flaws modifications made below are to reward players who add a bit of more flavor to their character. A character can not receive more than 10 bonus Experience from Flaws and Derangements.
• While Humanity is not considered a 'Flaw', a character may lower their humanity. - Important: Humanity starts at 7 for all characters. - Rule: A character may lower humanity for 5 Bonus Experience per step lowered.

Forum Storytelling Edition: System
This forum game will be using a combination of Minds Eye Theater rules, Table-top rules, and House Rules to ensure that the game is running smoothly. When in doubt, the default Minds Eye Theater rules will likely be the correct course. The following are modifications and simplifications we will be using.

Forum Storytelling System: Story
Danger Levels and Dark Secrets are a Pure House mechanic being added to provide clarity to players and add suspense to the World of Darkness game. While this is largely a social game, these two elements will provide a bit of a shadowy element to ensure all characters are on their toes.
