Vampire the Requiem - 2nd Edition The Kindred of Chicago and Domain Hierarchy
The information presented is split up between each individual and unique kindred that currently resides in Chicago. The population of kindred in the main city is estimated to be around 60, with the surrounding areas estimated to be home to another 60. While the city does boast as one of the largest domains in the world, it is also one of the most strict domains and is under the iron-fist rule of Sir Hermann, Sir Artus Le Jumel, and the Invictus.
At present count, the covenants with the largest presence in the city are the Invictus, the Circle of the Crone, and the Ordo Dracul. The Lancea Sanctum have lost their foot-hold in the city when the former Prince was 'relieved' of his reign, along with Soloman Birch being exiled. The surrounding areas of the main city serve as stronghold for both the Carthian Movement and Lancea Sanctum.
While the idea of Clan Prisci is appealing and certainly makes sense, the Invictus have altered protocol for the time being until they can establish a long lasting stability in the area. As such, any kindred that does not belong to the Ordo Dracul, First Estate, or Circle of the Crone must present themselves to Lady Justine Lasky or Sir Artus Le Jumel. The practice has grown on the nerves of kindred who favor clan over covenant, as well as most Lancea Sanctum and Carthian Movement members.

Sir Hermann
Clan: Gangrel (Status 4) Covenant: Invictus (Status 5)
Sir Prince Hermann is the old world brought to the new.
Many debate the hows and whys of his return, but as rumor goes ... a vassal of his, or childe, died in the city. Either way, his ascension to power is one hidden from no kindred. He is a Portuguese gangrel who oozes every bit of the old world flair. He is commonly referred to as the Father of the Invictus or supreme conquerer.
Trust me, if you don't call him by proper respect, the scourge will be forced to ask you to sit so that it'll be more comfortable as your mouth is sewn shut.
Invictus in the new world will flock to the city if only to swear their loyalty to get a piece of his wisdom. He may be the founder of what is now known as the First Estate, but if you ask an Invictus, they will tell you his eyes aren't on the prize that is the Praxis of Chicago, he just needed to assert his dominance. If he doesn't conquer every now and again, they'll forget who he is.

Sir Artus le Jumel
Clan: Daeva (Status 5) Covenant: Invictus (Status 5)
The most famed Spina was brought here on duty, his curiosity of the New World was piqued by discussions with Sir Hermann, so he personally assigned himself to the task of leaving his post in France to travel with the supreme conqueror. It was such a delightfully disappointing task though.
While he remains ever vigilant in his duties, his lack of interest in the New World grows.
Citizens frequently joke or get frustrated by the high levels of etiquette that must be exhausted when merely in his presence, and for that reason some simply prefer the company of the Prince. However, Sir Le Jumel brings his own fame to Chicago and his resolve is never faltering.
Many wonder what makes him a predator, but so very few ask.

Justine Lasky
Clan: Daeva (Status 4) Covenant: Invictus (Status 3)
As the Mistress two different of Elysiums, Justine Lasky is the central switching point for most information that isn't secret and a great deal that supposedly is. Simply by deciding whom to tell a certain piece of information, and how, Justine has been able to gain leverage and cement her position as invaluable to Sir Prince Hermann. Once a Polish woman turning tricks in Wiscousin, Justine has learned the tricks and trades of information trafficking.
She may be a Daeva by clan, but many mistake the sultry and charming woman as a passionate Mekhet.
She possesses a stately beauty that is both classical and forbidding, which results in all but the most rigidly confident feeling a little shaken around her. With both the ability to be lethal and fraudulently accessible in her openness, Justine is always prepared to be just the 'right' person to listen to those around her.

Norris Kleinspiegel
(point of contact: Grace)
Clan: Venture (Status 4) Covenant: Ordo Dracul (Status 4)
Norris is obsessed with secrets and the control they give him over others. Distrustful of bribes and disdainful of 'moral convictions', Norris believes the only true loyalty is that of the creature you can destroy.
He is a blackmailer, a threatener, a schemer and conniver, and he’ s indisputably good at his job.
In recent night, kindred speculate what his real role was in helping to rid Chicago of Prince Maxwell. There are whispers that he helped Sir Hermann and gave him the proper leverage to uproot the control that the former prince had. There are other whispers that paint Norris as part of the resistance against Sir Hermann’s claim.
The truth is, no one knows.

Miriam
(point of contact: Grace)
Clan: Gangrel (Status 3) Covenant: Circle of the Crone (Status 3)
Chicago’s Gangrel Primogen and once a rising star in her own right, Miriam broke the Gangrel mold and became a power player in Chicago when she sided with the new Prince. She may be a cultist of sorts, but she has the ability to mobilize the Savages when the need arises. Sir Hermann took advantage of this when he assumed power in Chicago, using his own standing to dominant the younger Gangrel.
In recent nights, Miriam has taken a liking to power.
She was once uncertain of her path but she now serves as the connection between the Invictus and Circle of the Crone. She’s not driven nor interested enough in the ways of the Crone to become a Hierophant, but as the point of communication between the Circle and First Estate she is rising in both
As an interesting side note and feat of endurance, Miriam is still known for her encounter with the Unholy — a two hour long 'conversation about the Gangrel way'.

Dave ‘The Grunger’ Webb
Clan: Presumed Mekhet or Daeva Covenant: Unknown
Dave Webb, presumed a kindred for his knowledge of the Requiem, is a thorn in the side of the Invictus and most higher-minded kindred. The Grunger, Dave’s self-appointed alias, is a vocal presence that has his finger on the pulse of mystery and mayhem. There is very little that escapes his vision, despite the politically oriented kindred trying to disrupt his operations and discover his methods.
In recent nights, Dave is still causing secretive kindred to cringe and find better ways to hide their plans, schemes, and operations.
Dave holds no allegiance to any one covenants or clan, as far as most kindred can tell. The only thing anyone knows for sure is that Dave is crass, crude, and has a female partner he refers to as ‘The Bitch’ or Jennifer.

Veronica Kanger
Clan: Nosferatu (Status 3) Covenant: Unknown
The Junk Angel, better known as Veronica Kanger, is the incarnation of madness and wisdom in disharmonious marriage. The nosferatu does not break the traditions or laws of kindred society, but she comes dangerous close as she spouts words of the end times. The world around this nosferatu rots from her presence, rusting and rotting from a mere touch of her porcelain fingers or a waft of her breath.
In recent nights, Veronica can usually be found within the junkyards of Chicago.
She is known to drag her prey to the dark scrap yards, bury the corpses in metal coffins of scrap, sift through old trash, and feed her inhuman desires. She has been the direct cause for many murder investigations, including a city-wide serial killer manhunt.

The Unholy
(point of contact: Any ST)
Clan: Gangrel (Status 5) Covenant: Unbound
Since apocryphal tales of her “first appearance,” Princes have called blood hunts on her.
Smart tyrants try to keep track of her the way mortals track hurricanes. It’s good to anticipate its arrival, not because you can stop it or fight, but because you can hunker down. She’s not a perfect enigma, of course. No one who’s piqued the curiosity of so many Mekhet and Nosferatu could keep everything hidden. Her clan is known, and a few of her childer have been identified.
In 1891 she even got her mind read, though the elder who did it went torpid without fully explaining what he saw; his coded notes on the subject were stolen in 1927. In 1983 she visited a Carthian court, politely introduced herself to the Prince and behaved herself for the two weeks she was there — seeming not to notice when the local Auspex expert found pretexts to handle her property. They didn’t learn much that way anyhow. They were able to confirm that her disfigurements are severe, though apparently limited to her arms.
The Unholy cuts a tall figure. She’s 5’10” in cowboy boots, but she seems taller. She’s slender — shapely from the collarbones down — but she seems huge, like she fills up the whole room. She dresses like a cowboy, like someone who rides horses and punches cattle for a living — worn, faded jeans, practical pointy-toed boots with just a little bit of flair around the stitching, a denim shirt under a jacket that’s leather or Levis. The black hat, always. Her arms are deformed along avian lines. They’re slender and crook in the wrong places and her hands have shrunken into claws. The undersides of her arms and the tops of her forearms sport scrofulous black feathers. The feathers growing in her hair are better formed and glossier. With some beads, they almost look decorative.

Bra'er Rabbit
(point of contact: Any ST)
Clan: Presumed Nosferatu Covenant: Unknown
It started as a rumor.
Most thought it was a bad joke cooked up by some Carthian lick who’d overdosed on too many suck junkies bad acid trips. Others said it was a story spread by wild eyed Invictus sires to keep errant childer in check. Some say it was once an elder of the Crone who strayed to close to their beast, or the unwanted offspring of some unknown Dragon who had refused to acknowledge their unholy creation. Some nomadic preachers in the Spear even call it ‘The hand of a vengeful God’ sent to instill fear in the unbeating hearts of the damned.
However it started, the tale spread like wildfire and became an undead myth that grew, in time becoming a trail of vengeance and destruction that left only ash and the fractured minds of it’s survivors in it’s wake.
