Walking the orange-it quad in the deep night, Esther might as well be Rapunzel singing from her tower. You know the tune: "Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah!" She is looking for Jean D'Eau indeed but she knows that the Mekhet delights in finding rather than being found. So she walks the pathways outside the Art Museum, meandering as if enjoying the winter's night. //So come along, darkling sir, we haven't got all night.//

Several long moments pass. Nothing moves among the shadows except the wind through the dead branches. One moment, the quad is empty except for Esther. The next, a darker shadow moves against the others. Jean d'Eau leans against the dark corner of a building, his arms crossed over his chest and his blue eyes cold. "What do you want?"

Esther turns slowly, cold dark eyes meeting cold light ones. "Me? I don't want anything from you. But Sebastian would appreciate your help," she replies, approaching the man, "He has a book that he would like you to take a look at and offer expertise on, if you have any. I am merely the courier."
Her glance turns slightly in the direction of the collapsed bell tower. "We are not out of the woods yet, it would seem."

Jean follows her gaze to the tower and then back to her. "And yet, here you are, still in the woods. So the Prince bids the maiden go and find the monster, and into the woods you get. Are you planning to place me on your steed, yet again, and go careening off into the night?" He raises a brow and smirks at her.

"Unless you wish to walk, and it is an ungodly awful long way," Esther replies with a sanguine sweet smile.

"Why don't you give me the address, and I can make my mind up for myself." He returns the grin, sickly sweet.

"If you insist. Mind like a steel trap then?" Esther replies, making her way over to him and she drops the address from her lips into his ear.
"Don't keep him waiting if you can manage it. This whole incident has him in poor humor." She then steps back as if to make her departure.

Jean's lips curl slightly into a pale sneer as Esther draws near to whisper in his ear. He holds his ground though, remaining perfectly still when she is close to him. When she pulls away, there is a smile on his lips. "If you say so. Though I doubt a visit from me will put him in better spirits. Now away with you, little bird. Fly back to your master and tell him I will be along presently."

"Oh, no need. Sebastian knows me well enough to know that I do as necessary. And if these things still need to be eradicated to preserve my own unlife, I call that necessary, don't you?" Esther replies, adjusting her gloves, and then turns to make her way through the nightling quad once more.
"Bonsoir, Monsieur D'Eau. And good luck," the Daeva says, wiggling slender fingers in farewell to the coldly handsome creature.

Jean gives her a cold smile as he steps back into the shadows. Only the bright gleam of his dagger-sharp teeth remain for the brief moment before he disappears completely.
[Thanks for the scene! Good to close?]
