"Disorder?" she questions, being a week new she did not know of any problems as of yet. No one has filled her in on juicy gossip of any kind mundane or supernatural.
Perhaps I should have a welcoming party, an old fashion block party. Get some news on this town, its people and maybe even a regular playmate. she thinks to herself and files the thought away for later.

"Disorder." Did I stutter? Somehow the man's tightly knit fingers tighten further. His tone is hushed, and he chooses his words with care. "Very recently, many crucial components of our society have hidden, vanished - or been destroyed. One would be wise to find and secure one's place."

She didnt speak after that, clearly thinking. where do I belong here? do I even belong here? Can my beast belong here? can these people except me? Can the Kindred accept me? No no one will ever accept you ragged toy, broken toy, discarded toy. how can anyone ever accept someone like you? No one even wants you. Not even the modeling industry, oh they call you for special shoots but they grimace when you walked in. You will never be wanted, never be needed, never be loved. the tendrils of her depression creep into her mind once again and took hold of her.
Without realizing she had pulled out a small pick like knife and was grazing her skin on her arm resting on her lap. Her mind lost to Malcom at this time.

Malcolm is pleased to have struck such a sharp nerve. "What will be your place?" he presses more pointedly, his words as direct as a rapier.

She had drawn blood, vitae whelling on her arm. Her deep sad eyes finally look to his and he could see, likeca child, she had no idea. She was a follower, a pawn, a peon. She needed a master to serve. Still her words failed her as she slit another mark on her hidden arm.

In an elegant flash of movement, the man plucks a crisp white kerchief from his breast pocket and presses it to the wound. His fingers are ice-cold against her blushing skin, even through the linen separating their flesh.
"What," he asks again, "will be your place?" His tone is dominating, dark. He was a nobleman, and a person of good breeding does not bind others in iron, but in poison silk.

The icy touch caused goosebumps on her across her skin that had stolen warmth. The pupils in her mismatched eyes had grown larger "I...I dont know. Ive never truely belonged anywhere." Her nerve had been shaken, usually a bubbly entertainer now almost a lost child.
"I, I did decide I would be best suited for a movement group." She says her voice small.

"How did you arrive at that conclusion?" he wonders. Her vitae is curiously warm beneath his hand, stirred into an echo of human heat by her will.

"Im not very religious, or into science and im too free spirit to follow all the time." She says her voice still hollow almost entranced by the gentleman beside her.

"Then you may belong with those who cannot be conquered," he corrects her. Snowy eyes meet her grey and black irises, pinning her like a butterfly to velvet. "Unless of course you would prefer to agitate endlessly for change for change's sake."

"Not change for change sake... well only if" she sighs "if the system works that's great but what if it could be better. We wouldn't know unless we try. Unless others vie for change it really depends on the arguments. One side against another. Who has the better proposal? Then... then I could decide. Should I put myself for one argument or the other argument? The way things work now the way it seems to work then that's my place." she says her voice slightly less hollow as she remembers the words and conversation she had with Liah only a week ago. She blinks a few times almost out of her reverie revelry but not quite. "It would depend on the aurgement for change." She said again.

"Your decision to advocate for alternatives implies that the current system does not work," he states, cornering her rhetorically. "Do you have an argument for specific improvements, or are you waiting for someone to give that argument to you? I would be fascinated to hear what changes you envision."
He presses her wrist's wound, and his tone is hushed. "To my eyes our current system works excellently, and has served our society for millennia beyond memory. Democracy and other 'alternatives' are merely games at which cattle waste away their brief, irrelevant lives. So many of our society are like ash in the wind, carried where the breeze carries them."

She looks down on her lap then to where he has his hand pressed on her wrist "No I don't have any suggestions. I've only lived in cities and mostly kept to myself so I have no real ideas or envisions on improving our society but I would hear arguments made, if one wanted to change the way our society works. I agree that our society works great as it is but I would hear arguments to change that. Then based on the argument I would put my weight behind it or not. That is why I look to join this Movement and not those unconquered. If that makes sense." she tries again hoping her words do in fact make sense. It is hard to explain when one feels they could belong to both covenants within this kindred society. However one cannot choose to have two covenants you may only choose one.

The old man regards her coldly, curious what weight the waif could put behind anything. He speaks casually, as though merely curious. "Has 'the Movement' ever had the ability to effect lasting societal change? History has proven beyond all doubt that the Invictus have had far greater success in that regard than the Carthians. We welcome change - but slowly, after careful consideration." Malcolm lifts his glass, taking a deep breath of the smoky stuff.
"The Movement embraces new and unproven ideas in the heat of the moment, darting like insects from ideology to ideology. We prefer to subject those ideas to the test of time. The fittest thrive, and time will show the distinction between fashions - and Traditions. Or do you think that the Invictus do not change?"

"from what I've gathered when I come out of my home No I have not seen Invictus change. I've seen those that are power hungry that will kill and maim just for using the wrong title. however I may have just seen a bad batch but I'm willing to be proved wrong." She says growing a spine. She was tiredof running.
